Neighborhood Insight
The Allied Gardens/Benjamin Library is at 5188 Zion Ave. The name has nothing to do with World War II: developers Louis Kelton and Walter Bollenbacher did business as Allied Contractors and named the tract after their company. They bought the land from the Waring estate, which is where Waring Road gets its name.
